Do you have a system that you do on a regular basis or do you not exercise at all?
We grow up in a culture of instant gratification with video games, speedy commercials and other things that we incorporate to save time. We aren't always sure why we do things let alone the benefits of our actions and motivations. When it comes to movement and exercise, unless we've grown up in an environment where we're taught the value of it, we're less likely to understand what it means in our lives or how to cultivate a healthy habit.
Movement has many benefits. It definitely doesn't produce a sense of instant gratification. There is a process to movement and exercise.
First we have to wrap our brain around the ideas of why it's beneficial, through common knowledge, research, or a vision of who we want to be in the future. This truth of who we are vs who we see ourselves as is the catalyst for the momentum needed to actually creating and sticking to an exercise routine. When we see who we are in a few months from now, when we understand the benefits of movement on a micro level we can then own what we'll experience once we've hit our physical goals.
The benefits of movement range from physiological to physiological.
There are endless studies explaining the physical benefits experienced during and after physical movement. When comprehended they give you a road map to follow that shows you what to look for and forward to.
Exercise and movement make you feel.... You feel pain and you feel pleasure.
The amount of discomfort from exercising ranges too. From the initial resistance of getting started, the actual discomfort of the task and the after effects from the soreness. You feel fatigued before, during and after the whole process.
That is until you start to see the benefits. The other benefits that make you feel....
When we move with a certain amount of exertion we have a new kind of feeling that fuels us. It's the yummy chemicals that we've been living with out too regularly and that can only be experienced when we really move.
