Why watch TV or read a book about someone else’s life when you can live your own?
Next time you watch a movie that you love or read a book that you really resonate with the characters or situations that are going on, take the time to picture yourself living that which makes you light up, in this lifetime. It’s how all the greats made their dream lives possible and happen. They payed attention to what they wanted and what they loved and ignored the self talk that was negative and made them doubt themselves and give up, even before they started. Writing down or cutting out things that are important to you. Make that scrapbook. Keep the moleskin of poignant lines from books you read. Have an inspiration board, such as this adorable one from my coworker.
Cleaning a little bit as you go. I used to be the queen of “let’s save up all of the deep cleaning for some traumatic four-hour period before people come over,” and now I’m more like “let’s clean a little bit every day so that I am not paralyzed at the idea of having unexpected guests see my living space.” |
